How to make Belgian waffle with buttercream and eggs
French waffles are one of the classics of the French breakfast.
It’s a simple recipe, with butter and eggs and a bit of custard thrown in.
It can be made with a number of different ingredients and can be served in a variety of different ways, depending on how you choose to eat it.
It makes a delicious breakfast and is a great breakfast food for a lazy day or a busy week.
French waffle Recipe 1 cup milk (softened) 1 egg 2 tablespoons butter (soft) 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 2 tablespoons sugar (soft/light) 3 tablespoons milk (sweetened) 3 eggs 3 tablespoons butter 1 teaspoon salt (soft to light) 1 tablespoon honey (or a sweetener of your choice) 1 cup shredded coconut 2 tablespoons chopped fresh fruit 1 tablespoon sour cream 1 cup whipped cream 2 tablespoons honey 1 cup fresh berries 1 teaspoon fresh mint (optional) 1/4 cup flour 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 2 tablespoons baking powder 1 tablespoon salt 3 tablespoons honey (for sprinkling) 1 tbsp vanilla extract 1/3 cup sugar (for spicing) 3 teaspoons water (to cover waffle) Directions Preheat oven to 180°C.
Line a 9×13 inch baking tray with parchment paper.
Grease a baking pan with butter, then grease a cookie sheet.
Melt butter in a small saucepan, then stir in milk, egg, and vanilla.
Stir in sugar, milk, and butter, and then stir again to combine.
Cook for a couple of minutes until it thickens.
Stir together sugar and butter in another saucepan and cook over low heat for 2 minutes.
Add in eggs, then whisk well.
Add flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and honey, and stir to combine, then cook for about 3 minutes.
Stir the batter into the prepared baking tray and bake for 30 minutes, until a skewer inserted into the middle comes out clean.
Turn the waffle out onto a lightly floured surface and use a spatula to press down firmly to a golden brown crust.
Remove and let cool completely on a wire rack.
Serve warm with whipped cream and honey or your choice of fresh fruit.
Recipe Notes For best results, store waffles at room temperature for at least a week.
