Rice, rice, rice.
The first rice you cook for a dinner party or at a party is usually the first thing you try.
But rice has an even greater potential to be a great side dish when it’s cooked right.
Here’s how to make a simple strogan off.
1.1 oz. fresh riced rice 3 tbsp.
olive oil 1 tbsp.
garlic powder 1 tsp.
salt 1 cup beef broth 1 tsp., 1 tbsp., or 2 tsp.
cayenne pepper, plus extra for garnish 1 cup freshly ground black pepper (or to taste) 2 tbsp.
finely chopped fresh thyme, or 1 cup finely chopped celery leaves 1 tbsp..
dried basil, for garnishes, or to taste 1 tsp..
dried oregano, for sprinkling over top of rice and stir-frying 2.
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat.
Add garlic powder and salt.
Cook until garlic powder has softened.
Add beef broth and stir to combine.
Add rice, cover, and cook for approximately 10 minutes.
When rice is done, stir in thyme and oreganos.
Cover and cook until rice is tender, about 10 minutes longer.
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Serve with a sprinkle of parsley.
Recipe Notes If you want to try a more adventurous strogano recipe, try using chicken or turkey instead of rice.
Rice can be cooked in any nonstick skillet or skillet-safe pan.
